Everything Was a Blur.....

......After the doctor told me Oliver had a heart murmur at his 30 month appointment today.

We were just going in for a check up, everything had been fine up until this point, I saw no reason to worry while we were getting ready only hours prior.

I planned on asking her about the tantrums he's been having and his strange eating habits.

But when she told me she detected a heart murmur, my world stopped.
I sat there....stunned.

She said it could of been because he was moving around and she wanted to give him a few minutes and try again.

Same the second time.

I asked if it was something I should be freaking out about, and she told me no.
That it's actually pretty common and most of the time, it's nothing.

But I am freaking out.

I'm not going to lie,
I am crying now and I have been crying on an off since I found out this afternoon.

It's scary when anything could potentially be wrong with your child, no matter how minor it is or may be, he still needs to go to a pediatric cardiologist.

So that is our next step.

Prayers and positive thoughts, for my sweet little boy, please.

  1. My brother has lived his entire life with a heart murmur without knowing until about three years ago. He is 27 and just had his first child. I understand your worry and I'm thinking of you. Hugs!

  2. I'm so sorry Lindsey. I agree with you no matter how small the condition could be as a mother the first thing that happens is you worry because you want your child to be ok.

    hugs & prayers

  3. My cousin has a heart murmur that was detected when she was a toddler also. She is perfectly happy and healthy now (She has 2 kids and all). I'm sure Oliver will be fine but I can completely imagine how your world must have completed stood still while you were trying to process this information. Good luck at the cardiologist!

Big hugs to you and Oliver!

  5. Phillipians 4 6Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
That was taught to me by my husbands Kidney Donor, I know what you are going through kinda, mine was my hubby and even though you want to have peace it is hard because we are all flooded with realism. However, the dust will settle and you will get back to a new normal whatever that means for you. In the mean time do what you need to do for you and for your family. Take a break, you can co-host my Friday party this week if you want and we can all do guest post's to keep you going! Prayin for you and hear if you need some understanding and oh BTW you will get mad and it's OK!

  6. Hey sweet girl... Just want to give you some thoughts of encouragement... I have had a heart murmur my entire life. I've known I had one since I was really little. Other than every time I see a new doctor and them saying, "You have a heart murmur", then me, "Yeah, I know"... You wouldn't even know it!! My granny had one too and lived to the ripe old age of 90 with no problems because of it. It's just one of those things... Feel better ok!!!
